Consider making a difference as a volunteer.

Members of the Friends of Retzer volunteer their time and talent to making Retzer Nature Center a unique educational setting in a number of ways:

Assisting at Retzer events with children’s games, nature art activities, trail hikes, and visitor center tours.

Serving on the Friends of Retzer Board, or supporting our organization by assisting in areas of membership, newsletter production, and website updates.

Organizing and leading field trips and natural history tours to destinations of unique ecological interest.

Veteran RTNs, major event volunteers, and natural history tour organizers often provide invaluable service on the Friends’ Board, which manages the organization’s membership and budget, oversees many vital project and program funding initiatives at Retzer, and collaborates with Waukesha County and nature center staff on a shared vision for enhancing environmental education in the community.

Serving as trained Retzer Volunteer Teacher Naturalists (RTNs) who lead guided nature hikes and outdoor activities for school groups and other civic groups.
